i've never had done online dating before until about two weeks ago. i have a pic of myself and i have email about seven or eight women and i know a couple of them have read the email because it say they have but no response. in the email was nice didn't mention anything about sex or anything dirty. im a nice, i have a job, never been in trouble with the law, i workout to stay in shape, i think im above average looking. i guess im confused of why i can't even get a response back. don't women want a good guy that has his head on straight?

The male/female ratio is quite high so don't be discouraged when you don't hear anything back. Things take time. Standing out from the crowd will help, too.

I wasn't sure if things would ever work out for me on there and in the period where I wasn't really looking the unexpected happened - someone found me and we've been together for most of this year.

Somewhat. Just depends on you. I went to college out of state and a dating site helped me get with quite a few friends. Be truthful, give a good impression, and you could have a friend for life that you wouldn't have met. Relationships could also be possible.

I tried online dating before I met my husband and never had good results. I think average people tend to get lost in the crowd. Everyone seems to want someone who is incredibly good looking, rich and entertaining. Also, many of the people online are dishonest and out of touch with reality. If they really had such great senses of humor, interesting lives and were taking such lovely hikes, wouldn't they run into their soul mates on the trail?
I was looking for a nice guy with your qualifications. I found that nice guys were too shy to speak to me. I had to ask my husband out. I'm sure glad I did!
I'd suggest that you just get brave and when you see a woman that you are interested in, just talk to her. Ask her non invasive questions about herself. Even just making eye contact and smiling is a good start. Also try to engage shy girls. Remember that a plain looking woman with a warm heart can always get dressed up and look like a million bucks for the man she loves!

Don't think of online dating as being any different than real-life dating. You still have to put yourself out there to attract some women. And yes that includes rejection. Happens to the best of us. I would say just keep trying, two weeks isn't a HUGE amount of time if you really think about. It sounds like you are good dude so just keep your head up and stay confident because im sure the right one will come along.

just remember that online dating is a very different animal so dont get discouraged so quickly and dont take it personally. It's a numbers game online since there are just so many choices and things going on. It's all about "marketing" yourself if you want the responses but then again you need to ask yourself. Do you just want to get responses or are you trying to find someone within the guidelines of what you are looking for?
