Do You Have A Career Or A Job?

Postby Maethelwine » Sun Feb 09, 2014 11:19 am

A job My educational background is that I graduated from a community college hoping to find work. However, I didn't know anyone who is hiring for a general office clerk. I met a counselor at my local unemployment office hoping to find work and she told me that these jobs are in DEMAND. Also, I have to have 3 yrs of work experience as a clerk in order to qualify for an administrative assistant. I met with another counselor at a non-profit organization and she told me that all the office jobs are basically temp(which I didn't want to do).   I am now working at the San Francisco Food Bank as an intake specialist. It isn't what I wanted to do. Also, once I have been at this position for one year, I am not learning anything new that is transferrable to an administrative assistant. All the administrative positions are either through a temp agency or found on Craigslist(very competetive). I don't know anyone who wants to hire an adminsitrative assistant.   I will be going back to school to get my degree in accounting and hoping to work in a financial office or a bank. That is my career. louseal01 80 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Please verify your account to give a compliment. Please sign in to send a message.
