My sister in law lives in FL, and has 3 dogs. Every year it seems no matter what she does she has a huge tick infestation. She has her property treated professionally, but still the amount of ticks that end up on her dogs is insane! The dogs are vaccinated for Lyme, but I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on products that work well and will help keep them off the dogs, as they bring huge amounts of ticks into her house. We don't have ticks or fleas so I've never used anything for them. Anything I could pass on to her would be a great help. She does shave down the one GSD just to be able to see the ticks on her. The other 2 dogs are short haired. Thanks!
Front-line plus has worked wonderfully for my pups. And I get my yard professionally done, but then after I get a bag of granulated bug cover that is specifically for fleas and ticks. It is made so that it is spread out on the yard, cover bad areas with more, then water down for it to settle in the ground. It does better than a spray because it actually is a sold that dissolves into the ground itself. There are a lot of different brands that work well.
Hope this helps!
