Duplex Printing - Long Edge/Short Edge (Read description)?

Postby yago » Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:16 am

I found duplex printing, but I can't find long edge/short edge.
I have Canon MG8100 and my laptop is windows 7.
I'm trying to print a brochure and the other side is always upside down, I'm trying to make it NOT upside down. So I went online and found out about long edge/short edge, but the problem is, I can't find it. When I look at properties it doesn't specifically say long edge/short edge. I found one talking about staple side; Long side stapling (Left), Long side stapling (Right), Short side stapling (Top), Short side stapling (Bottom). It's like the closest thing to Long Edge/Short Edge. So then I went online again, and saw someone talking about how portrait is long edge and landscape is short edge. However, I was always printing out the brochure in landscape.
Please help, I need to find out by Monday. It's a final project, so it's pretty important.

For landscape, use flip on short edge. For portrait, use flip on long edge.

I am not sure if Canon MG8100 supports duplex printing without manual settings. If you do not see the long edge/short edge feature then you'll have to do a print test to see which side your printer prints on first, and manually set your papers back in the try to print on the right side and edge.
