Is there a California labor law that states an employer is required to compensate an employee when the employer imposes a particular dress code that requires certain clothing and certain material it be made out of. The employer of course knowing it is a low wage position and the clothing they are requiring is out of the financial means of several employees. The business is an outlet store and the employee has always dressed according to their business casual dress code. There was nothing stated to these particulars in the employee hand book over a year ago when the employee was hired. (looking for an answer asap...thx_
