Employers pay for dress code?

Postby artzai » Mon Jul 30, 2012 8:56 am

Is there a California labor law that states an employer is required to compensate an employee when the employer imposes a particular dress code that requires certain clothing and certain material it be made out of. The employer of course knowing it is a low wage position and the clothing they are requiring is out of the financial means of several employees. The business is an outlet store and the employee has always dressed according to their business casual dress code. There was nothing stated to these particulars in the employee hand book over a year ago when the employee was hired. (looking for an answer asap...thx_

Sorry kid, it's up to you to buy your clothes to wear to work. Unless it's a uniform that carries the company name or logo, you are expected to provide your own wardrobe.
