Film someone for a tv show is consent needed Expert help needed?

Postby edin » Tue Dec 20, 2011 12:25 pm

(loaded question)

If a parent put their minor son on a tv show without his knowledge by installing hidden cameras in his room, bathroom, car, all over the town anywhere he went (city was in on it too) friends houses everything around his apartment complex.making a show that was completely based on him filming him in his room by himself and switching cameras to wherever he went, would this fall under Restatement of the Law, Second, Torts, ? 652
"One who appropriates to his own use or benefit the name or likeness of another is subject to liability to the other for invasion of his privacy"
(http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/privacy/Privacy_R2d_Torts_Sections.htm)(note this show is of legitimate concern to the public)If the rules do not apply since he is a minor, what about when he turns 18?Would the rules apply then?
He lives in his parents home.Someone told me
"The parents have a right to film their own property and distribute it how they please"
But since they made an entire tv show just about this one guy fallowing him all over town, once he turns 18 would they need his consent to air new material and keep filming? Is there a loophole around the tort law mentioned above?

this is in tennessee

they filmed him in the first place for scientific/educational purposes.would this have to stop once hes 18 without his consent?he never knew he was being filmed in the first place

Please dont answer unless you have the right answer to my questions. sorry to bug you :(

Why don't you simply shell out $250, make an appointment with an attorney, and get actual legal advice and opinions on this matter rather than posting this question over and over and over and over again?

You are clearly not getting the answers you want. And it seems quite likely that you are never going to get the answers that you want. Hiring a licensed and practicing attorney seems to be the logical solution.
