Got a traffic ticket but officer spelled my name wrong. can I fight it?

The officer who issued the ticket recorded the incorrect time and I can prove I was not in the city at the time recorded on the ticket. I have chosen to fight the ticket andthe time is recorded incorrectly on the trial notice too. The officer also recorded my name incorrectly. The spelling he recorded does not even match a correct pronunciation. I will be bringing my evidence that I was not in the city at the time recorded on the ticket. What are my chances of winning? The ticket was issued in Toronto.

Were you actually speeding? Did the cop actually pull your over and give you a ticket or are you trying to fight a ticket just because it has the incorrect time on it? Bad mistake. Don't think that just because an officer made a typo that you can get the ticket cleared. In fact, you may even get in more legal trouble.

No, you cannot fight it. It is not worth it. Just because there is a typo does not mean that it does not to be paid for.

So how did the cop give you the ticket if you were not in the city? Thats the first question the judge will want answered. Common sense says that you had to be in the city to have received the ticket. I wouldn't try to get cute with the judge. It will only piss him/her off and you will be fined accordingly.
