HELP - - Windows 7 & Media Player 12?

Postby garret » Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:18 am

OMG - - Okay, very calmly, I will try to explain the facts of my issue (although after two weeks of talking to Microsoft Tech Support I am beginning to believe I have lost my mind!!!) I have a Sony VAIO Laptop which originally came installed with Vista. About a year ago I changed to Windows 7 Home Edition (x64 bit) on the advice of one of my "computer expert" friends (well you do get what you pay for, right??? LOL). At that time I had Media Player 10 and was not experiencing any problems. About five months ago I upgraded to Media Player 12 and it has been a nightmare ever since. I create the playlists from the Library and all is well for a time and then randomly, with no rhyme or reason, four or five songs will not play, and then it is seven or eight songs disappear. I pulled up the properties and it shows that the Media Player is set to play in compatibility mode for Windows 95 and I have not been able to change it nor have I found anyone who could explain how or why it is that way and/or how to change the compatibility to Windows 7. Whew - - i know that was a lot of information but I would be completely in your debt for life if someone - - anyone - - could explain this to me. I thank you in advance for your time, patience and help.

HELP - - Windows 7 & Media Player 12?

When you get an error to a particular song in a playlist. it simply means that the location the song was in has changed or the file itself has been deleted.

I suggest you Reinstall Window Media Player:
Step1: Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a program>Click on the "Turn windows features on or off" link on the left menu panel.

Step 2: From their open media features folder uncheck the box to windows media player and press ok.Restart your computer.

Now do step 1 again and check back the box to windows media player. it will reinstall it.

I'm not sure exactly what your problem is, but when all else fails, you can always back up your data and restore your computer to factory settings using your restoration disk

HELP - - Windows 7 & Media Player 12?

Well check your file's locations. One thing you may consider this may happen if the windows 7 isn't genuine, after upgrading some programs these kind of stuff happens. So i would like to suggest you to use a genuine windows operating system, besides you may reinstall your program (See this link:

& you may also learn more about media player 12 from
