How do I fix my Dell inspiron mini?

Your HDD might have failed. Just got old, and is dead.
Your bios is not seeing the HDD, usually a bad cable.
Or your MBR is corrupt...
Take it to a reputable repair shop to find out which, and if any important info can be saved.

If you take it to a shop, and they tell you the HDD is bad, nothing can be recovered, tell then you want the HDD back, if there is sensitive info on it anyway.

This means you have no operating system (windows/linux/mac etc), or that your hard drive is corrupt.

I assume you use windows. you will need a windows disc (dont buy one, borrow one or download a copy) and use the licence key on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop to register it (using this key means it is legal to download it!)

if that doesn't work the hard drive may need replacing. you will have to buy a new one and either fit it yourself or find someone else who can, then install windows onto the new hard drive (again, using the licence key on the bottom of the laptop)

seems like it's not finding your hard drive... do you have your operating system loaded on the computer... it seems like it's just finding the some of the pieces and parts but not locating the operating system which would generally mean either your hard drive is unattached, not working, or doesn't have the operating system on it... it would take a lot more info to speculate properly so if you're not sure... it's probably time to take it in

Most likely your registry is overfed and overstuffed with an assortment of useless pieces of data.
