Oh, now I see you've added more information. So the case isn't closed yet. They are saying they don't want to take you to court, are willing to pay you money to make you go away, but they want you to answer some questions(the deposition) outside of court. This is sometimes used as a stall tactic. I had to answer some really ridiculous questions for one of my law suits, which were basically done to mess with me, according to my attorney. He complained to their attorney, and they dropped the request. But don't count your chickens or spend your cash before you even receive it! And remember that you may have to pay Uncle Sam, too!
