I think it's going to be tough. Obviously, you have to mix whatever exercise you can do with low calorie meals. You would probably work best with a lot of small meals throughout the day. Instead of eating three meals a day, you could have juice for breakfast at 8, then some cereal at 10, then for lunch, you could have soup at noon, and then half a sandwich at 2 and then another half sandwich at 4 and then slide into dinner by eating a small serving of meat at 6 and then vegetables at 8, etc. You wouldn't be hungry, but you wouldn't be full. And you'd be burning the calories as you consume them.I think where people go wrong is trying to cut out meals and starve themselves for half a day or so at a time. They wind up overeating when they do eat.And if you can combine that with any kind of walking or physical therapy - don't overdo it - you can work yourself back into shape. Don't set 80 lbs as your goal for the year. If you can lose 1 pound a week steadily, that'll be 50 lbs in a year. That would probably be sensible.I'm sorry about your accident. It must be quite a shock to remember what you could do with now. But I think you can work your way back. it sounds like you're keeping a positive attitude, and having a goal(or another goal, I should say) for the next year and a half will be good to bring you back.

I can't move very quickly, nothing faster than a quick walk, but my strength is at about zero. I used to play 3 sports a year in high school(which was not that long ago), I could do 30 push-ups on my fingertips, and bang out 100 sit-ups without breaking a sweat. Now I can't even do one "girly" push-up! 42 months ago
