I'll be under contract, I won't be on their payroll.

The employer said that at the end of this year, they have to report to the IRS how much they paid me for my work/time (pay me for my future work/time with them). So that means that my name will show up showing that I was paid so and so while I was collecting unemployment.

Is it against the law to work for cash that will be reported to the IRS by the end of this year while I was still collect unemployment?

You are not working for cash. The company is going to report the income to the IRS via a 1099. You are required to pay taxes on this income.

If this is not a full time job, you can continue to collect unemployment BUT you have to report all income that you earned and your unemployment will be reduced based on that income for those weeks.
- your unemployment claim will remain the same, the period that you can receive that claim money will be extended.

They are just do that for calculating your unemployment and taxes. They designed your unemployment according to the amount they given to you and for how much time you work there and than calculate the amount of unemployment that will given to you when needed.
