Well first off it depends where you from in most states maybe not all but i know for California for sure you need to have a BA or BS it doesn't matter what you get it in as along as you have. Than that would be step 1 now step 2 is having a good college GPA since to get into a good law school they also factor that in. Step 3 is prepare for the LSAT that is basically like the SAT but for law and you can buy books and prepare that way or you can check out Blue Prints and pay for them to help prepare you. It cost a pretty little penny but I have heard a lot success using that. Step 4 take the LSAT. Step 5 if you don't feel good about your score call to cancel it right away so you can be given another chance. But there is a catch it has to be done in a certain time frame. Your wondering why would you do that well if you feel you didn't score higher than 150 than you should consider to cancel it. If your thinking I still don't understand see you can take the LSAT exam as many times you want. However they average your score so if you score really high the first time. Than no pressure to take the exam again. In my opinion if you get anything higher than 150 your in good shape lower than take the test again no pressure. Step 6 start applying to law schools. But before Step 6 I would look into if you could get a mentor in a law firm to take you under his or her wing and show you the behind the scenes since law school is expensive. Step 7 go to law school. Step 8 finish law school step 9 celebrate step 10 work with your mentor while getting paid or work for someone else or work for yourself step 11 connections connections connections you will be nothing unless you can put your *** on the line and get yourself known.

Good Luck

"rock and rose" has some accurate and some not so accurate information in there for you.

Step 1: You will need to earn a bachelors degree (BA or BS) prior to enrolling in law school. This does not need to be done at the same school you want to go to law school at. Also, admissions for undergraduate (where you earn a bachelors degree) are separate from admissions to their law school. You can major in anything and go to law school. CJ is not a good degree to get however. First, law school is about 1% criminal law and 99% everything else. Second, it does little to develop your critical reading and writing skills which are most important for law school success. Law school admissions are based on your college GPA and LSAT score. The LSAT is an admissions test you will take during college.

Step 2: Get accepted to and attend an ABA approved law school. Law school is a 3 year program attending full time.

Step 3: Take and pass the bar exam in the state you wish to practice in. There is no mentoring required in any state, you pass the bar, you are a licensed attorney.

Word of caution. The legal job market is BAD BAD BAD right now. UNLV is not that great of a law school. You do not have to go to law school in the state you want to practice in. Unless you get into what is commonly referred to as the T14 (top 14 law schools) you will stand very little chance at getting any employment and law school is expensive, most people graduate with over 100,000 in student loan debt (only way to pay for law school is out of pocket, loans, or scholarships, no aid that you don't pay back)
