No you shouldn't get anything in the mail and it shouldn't increase your insurance rates unless he is on your parents insurance.

The insurance company won't notify your parents because they won't have any idea what happened. Your insurance rates go up after getting a speeding ticket because every so often your insurance company will run YOUR driver's license history and see that you've gotten a ticket(s). Nobody notifies your insurance company of anything. If someone gets a ticket in your car the insurance company will have no way of knowing about it unless you tell them. If your boyfriend's insurance company runs his driver's license history they'll see he got a ticket. But they won't be told what car it was in. Even if your car gets into an accident your insurance company won't know about it unless you tell them. The police/courts do not have any communication at all with the insurance companies. As far as getting a letter in the mail from the police. Well that would sort of be a waste of time and money if they sent out a letter everytime they wrote a ticket. If he fails to show up in court they'll mail a letter to the address on his driver's license just to let him know they've suspended his license and/or put out a warrant for his arrest, but they will not send it to the address the car was registered to.
