IME Oregon Workers compensation appoint 195miles ONE way.?

I just received a letter from the Workers compensation company. First off today is December 3rd 2011 and my appointment date is December 20th 2011. I live in Eastern Oregon and the appointment is scheduled all the way in Lake Oswego Oregon, which is 194miles one way...So it would take us approx. 3hrs to get there (give or take)...also I dont drive so my fiance is going to have to take time off of work to take me there. My question is: What are the chances of the IC being able to find an IME near me and also will I be able to reschedule the appointment? They have me scheduled for 5 days before Christmas.I know they arent going to care about this...but my 5yr old son will..so what are the chances of them being able to schedule me in for early January? Being in the car for that long KILLS my back....I have 3 slipped discs and a lot more problems.

i dont know why they chose somewhere so far summer. i can imagine how hectic that is going to be for you both. what i suggest is that you make an appeal and see what can be done. you can contact one of these consultants and see what other advice they have for you.
