In laws clash....advice please? ?

There's this lady, Toreen, at my house. She came 3 days ago with her husband because her husband's family treated her like dirt and she hit her breaking point and basically ran away from them and came to my house...she's been crying for 3 days straight. She called her parents and explained to them how badly she was treated- they hit her, they didn't feed her, they basically neglected her- and how her husband worked all day so she had nobody and her parents told her to stay with us...her parents don't even know us but they trust my family over hers.
So her husband was on HER side until his parents literally came barging into MY house...they didn't knock, nothing. They opened my door and right then started yelling at her. They were about to hit her but she ran to my parents before they could. They've been yelling and arguing for 3 hours now. The 2 of them went into my room to talk privately and he came back in 5 minutes and he ALREADY made a decision to divorce her...simply because of his parents. But my dad is convincing him that it's a bad choice to leave his wife because she loves him and wants him dearly.

Let me just say that we are all middle eastern. This man went to Iraq to find a wife and they met and a year later they got married. So he brought her to America (WITHOUT a family) and she's pretty much stuck here with nobody to go to. She's crying saying "Why did you even bring me here if you were gonna do this to me?"

I want to comfort her and give her advice but I'm just stuck.

I have no idea why men choose their controlling parents over their wife these days! They need to seriously grow a set of balls!!!

Let them divorce. If her husband can't hoist up his balls and stand up to his parents for the wife that he loves...he isn't worth it. She deserves better than that. At worst - contact a woman's shelter and hook her up.
