Is it illegal for a police officer to tell another adult about a juveniles record?

I was recently given a citation for trespassing which I am fighting in court because the area was not marked, but that's besides the point. I am 17 and being charged as a juvenile. My friend who is 14 was also with us but not charged. That part pissed me off but here is the thing that really grinds my gears: The officer told his mom who he was with ALONG with a prior drug possession i was given. Now I am a minor and isn't it illegal to disclose a juveniles record to other? Expecially by someone in LAW ENFORCEMENT. I'm going to press charges if it is so please tell me. I have court very soon for the ticket.

Unless the record has been sealed or closed to the public you can't do anything about it.

APRA (Access to Public Records Act) clearly states that all records maintained by public agencies are a matter of interest for the general public, hence they're open to the public. The police officer was well in his rights to do that, in fact everyone could have done and the law would have been on their side.

The public can get hold of court records usually, unless it's an unusual case where it's been made to be kept silent, if that makes sense?

Basically the mom could've got that by herself if she wanted so yeah, i think he was allowed to. Which sucks and is horrible for you but it's the law, unfortunately

your record is not sealed until you are 18 so anyone can find your record
