Is it just me, or is the US a hot mess right now? ...and is any other country trying to do too much?

It really is terrible... People take things out of context though. I do believe that killing gays is extremely harsh. Leviticus chapter 20 states that homosexuality is wrong, and punishable by death. BUT, when Jesus died on the cross he forgave everyone's sins. All you have to do is accept him and ask for forgiveness. You could repent on your dying breath, and you will live forever in the kingdom of God. Isn't that amazing? So yes, everyone in America has freedom of speech and religion, and we SHOULD make your beliefs in Christ known. You SHOULD let people know that what they are doing is against the good book. But you shouldn't kill them! Murder is a sin! There is no way to justify it. And no sin is bigger than any other sin. Whether killing children or shoplifting a candy bar. It may go over differently in court, but in God's eyes they are all the same. What blows my mind is how everyone is in an uproar because being gay is a sin, but there are murderers, theives, sexual predators, drug lords, etc. walking around and carrying on their business as usual, but everyone seems not to care. I'm not saying I agree with homosexuality, but seriously guys? All we can do is tell them what they're doing is wrong and hope that they will come to their senses before its too late. Our mission here on earth is to recruit people to follow God. Killing them doesn't exactly do that... Saying you're a Christian and being one is on opposite ends of the spectrum.
As for gun rights... Guns don't murder, people do. I have been raised with guns, and I respect and know their power. I am 14 and currently I have almost 10 rifles, shotguns, and handguns. If the authorities would be more strict on licenses, then I guarantee the gun-related death rate would go down. People are quick to jump on the band wagon that guns should be outlawed, but most of these people are the ones that have no experience with firearms. Without guns there would be more problems than now: Overpopulation on game animals, leading to more traffic accidents because of animals on the highways, wildlife would take over crops, leading to EVEN LESS profit to local farms, forcing us to get our produce from other countries, digging an even deeper hole for our economy. We would have very little self defense. If someone breaks into your house and you're about to be raped and killed, wouldn't you want to have a gun on hand? That speaks for itself. PLUS, it is in the Constitution that we have the right to bear arms. Taking that away is disrespectful to our forefathers who have worked so hard to build a country that we have turned to trash. My point is: If anything, there needs to be stricter terms for possesion of firearms. Isn't it funny how you have to pass a test to get your driver's license, but you can simply purchase a firearms license? And the government wonders why there are so many shootings and murders using guns... AND, the authorities need to step up to the plate and actually enforce the posession laws. If somehow the government will smarten up and follow some of thee very basic guidelines, then they wouldn't have a problem.
Oh man. I'm going to shutup now.
