Hey I couldn't say if it's illegal but I can say that the teacher was in no Fu•king place to say that. They might have meant it has an insensitive 'joke'. You find people like this everywhere. I'd say report it to someone higher than them like a head teacher or at least tell another teacher or your parents. It's not ok that the teacher said that. Get it sorted ASAP!!! Good luck mate!

you need to go to the board of Education as well as the principal.
That teacher should be fired.

Your best bet here is to give physical evidence of the matter taking place and record what is happening in a diary so that the teacher can be brought to justice.
