Is there an insole or arch support that would relieve the pain of plantar fasciitis?

There are so many I don't know what to select. Does anyone know from personal experience? I don't wear high heels. Because of an injury I can only wear flats right now.

I find I get relief by padding my feet - wearing extra layers of socks and knitted booties - they make me look like a grandma, but I find the extra cushioning really helps.

I've also been told gel cushion inserts for the heels can be useful, and insoles with extra arch support.

There are also prescription devices available, and you would need to see a podiatrist for those, because they are prescribed and custom made.

There are also exercises and stretches you can do to help relieve the inflammation and pain:

Stretches won't immediately cure the problem, but are an important part of healing the injury.
