Is there any new laws in texas that release non violent criminals?

My dad had been in federal prison for 2 years. He got sentenced to 10. Drug related.

It wouldn't make a difference. He was sentenced by a federal court, not a Texas court.

That I am aware of, there have been no changes to shorten non violent offenders in the federal system.
