Labor laws New york state?

I live in Carthage new york and at the moment my father is going to be working 72 hours this week If you ask me that has got to be pushing it I would just like a reliable site or answer that would give me the labor laws of New york state Because this is getting ridicules.

Well first of all is he being mandated to work all of these hours? For a normal work week is 40 hours, and he is working 72 that is 32 hours of OT( over time) is he choosing to do this or is he forced to do that many hours?
That is the question that you may want to ask him.
Because that will make a whole difference.
What type of work does he do?

New York law is that there must be one day of rest in seven.

There is no federal limit.

Lots of people have to work 70 or more hours a week.
