Laws Concerning Knives

Postby Adelbert » Wed Jun 25, 2014 10:06 am

Jack

I have recently moved into a new neighborhood and am interested in carrying a knife for personal defense.  I live in Franklin County, Columbus, Ohio and wanted to know if there are any laws that apply to the carrying of knives.  I wanted to make sure that I am not carrying a knife that has  too long of a blade, and also to make sure that there are not certain establishments I am not allowed to have a knife in, if I leave my home with it on my person.

Please let me know what information you can relate from your own experience.

If you know of any online resources that have more information about the law like please let me know.

Laws Concerning Knives

Ryan,    Every state has laws about the carrying of knives or other weapons.  Unfortuantely we do not have national laws about this subject thus there are fifty sets of laws.  I would encourage you to call your local police station about this subject however I would also discourage you from carrying a knife.  There is absolutely no reason that a person could have for carrying a knife.  It is only going to get you into trouble.
