Minnesota House rental laws-Please Help?

Postby croslea » Tue Apr 05, 2011 3:53 pm

I want to rent my 2 bedroom 2 bath townhome in Bloomington MN. Does anyone know how many tenants can legally occupy a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom townhouse in MN. Or where i can find this information. Ive looked online and cant find what im looking for..I have a family of 5 that wants to rent. 2 adults and 3 children ages-Newborn, 2 years and 6 years old. Is that legal in the state of MN. to rent to 5 people in 2 bedroom 2 bathroom townhome? also what about a family of 4 but the wife is 3 months pregnant so they will also have 5 in just a few months..any help would be great.thank you

The occupancy law is 4 people plus 1 child under 12 months. Your family can legally rent until the baby's birthday and then they would have to move.

At least the family that is only expecting can legally stay there for a year, I would pick them.
