Im Mexican ..Iv been with my boyfriend for 4 years now and i don't want to get married yet...all of his family are Italians..they are all cool...for the last couple of weeks, my mother-in-law has been acting all mean to me...one time, i went to the house, and she started yelling at my bf in her italian language and my boyfriend told me not to worry about it...she once called me a PUTTANA which i later google it and it means BTch in italian....its probably the joke that i made up, i told her "mama mia make me pasta" n she didn't it was funny....im stating to learn Italian from rosettastone..and im pretty much dumb to memorise all of that...i really want her to like me so that one day if me and my bf getts married, she could pay half for tha wedding ;).....should i start acting italian like haveing that italian accent????...i also started working at a Italian restuarant as a waitress....and im listening to italian music. My mexican family thinks im crazy...what did you do to make your mother-in-law to like you????..... **plz mind my spelling im useing my phone**

If you are not married to her son, she is not your mother in law.

Perhaps she dislikes you because you claim to be someone you are not.

I am 100% Italian. It has nothing to do with you being Mexican. She is never going to like you. Don't bother learning Italian, because even if you became perfectly fluent, she wouldn't like your accent. Even if you were Italian, if you were Northern and she was Southern, she would hate you. If you were Southern and she was Northern, she would hate you if you were Southern and she was from Sicily, she would hate you. If you were both Southern and she was from Naples and you were from Bari, she would hate you. Get it? Other than rednecks from the Southern U.S., I don't think there is anyone as racist and bigoted than an Italian. Again, I'm 100% Italian, so I have seen this first hand and by the way...I married a Polish woman and my mother hates her.

Sounds like your revolving your whole life around this guy... Go out there and do the things YOU like! A relationship shouldn't MAKE your life it should compliment your life.
