Need advice please & thank-you?

Postby hurst » Thu Jul 12, 2012 7:16 pm

I just moved to a new town for a job. I now live 12 hours away and live by myself. I love living by myself but the people in my complex don't really talk much....so I don't know anyone.

I fight & do kick boxing but due to finances and a back injury I'm currently at a very small gym and have a personal trainer specific for my back so I'm not meeting people.

I've tried some church groups but I'm finding almost all the church and religious groups I'm involved in to be a bit on the "extreme" and I have nothing in common with these people since I'm not "super" religious.

I was thinking of taking a class at the local college but I already have my degree and i want to meet people more 'mid-20's' who have a bit more maturity.

Please help thanks so much!!!
How do I meet people my own age?

Well, in the actual world, you can meet any type of person. You just cannot judge somebody by a first impression and then decides not to meet him/her. This world is full of people and we cannot survive without the help of others.

Nevertheless, you could meet people at your own age by joining clubs and some groups. You could also socialize w. the people there and eventually you will also meet people w/ same age as yours.

For this, i recommend you "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. It's a great book and will help you a lot w/ your social interaction.

Good luck!

What are you interested in? Join a drama group, athletics club, badminton, swimming club........ Evening classes often have a variety of ages. Are there any singles groups in your area - or dining clubs? Why not start one yourself?
