Neighbors dog gets loose & kills animals?

Okay so my neighbor has a dog it barks all the time, they seem to neglect it & it's really skinny.
Plus we raise chickens & the dog has gotten out multiple times & has attacked & killed some. I decided to let it drop.  Anyways just now a baby chick got scared into the yard & the mother went after it the dog grabbed the mother hen & killed it. The babies are all alone & crying.  Now I'm not so sure if I want to let it go yes this time it was in there yard but most times the dog runs onto our property.
Is there any law on controlling your dog or would the human society even do anything? That's my question. PS our neighbors hate us & when my dad tried to talk to him they threaten to shoot him if he stepped on there property again. So talking to them won't help

Yes, it's against the law for the neighbors to let their dog run loose, especially if it is damaging property. Call animal control and report the attacks, they should take it seriously. You could also call the cops for the threat they made to your father. They are nuts and it is only a matter of time before the dog does something worse than kill chickens, you can't let this slide.

There are leash laws. You can call your local police station and file a complaint with the police. And if the dog is being neglectedd you can contact your local animal control or animal police and they will go to the house and investigate if the dog is being neglected.

If the dog is skinny, call the Humane Society and they will come out and determine if the dog is indeed being neglected. If that is the case, they may remove the dog and your problem will be solved. Good luck.

It sounds as if the poor dog is suffering from neglect, was never trained and has it's instictive wires crossed. The best thing to do would be to call the city dog pound and have them look into it. Poor pup.
