Netflix play trics!

Postby zacchaeus21 » Thu Apr 07, 2011 12:10 pm

We are using Netflix from last two years. But from last few months we are not that happy with their service. Sometime they do trick. They accept movies after a gap so that we can get a estimated number of movies in a particular month. But we are paying them for unlimited number of movies. This is not fair. Have you experienced something like this with your movie rental service? What movie rental service do you use?

Oh ya, the same thing happened to me a few months back, they will either take forever to mail the next movie and as they make sure they mail it around Saturday so we get it only on Monday! I had anyways decided to stop Netflix since I was done watching movies and soaps. It's called "unlimited" but in the end we get to watch 5 movies at the most in a month.

Yes, you are very right about the saturday posting. This is irritating, because you want movies specially in weekend.

I do not use a movie rental service, but I heard about this on a consumer program on the news recently. I believe there was a class action lawsuit against them.

I cancelled mine after only 2 weeks, as I never seemed to have the movies when I wanted to watch them. If I sign up with anyone again it will be blockbuster. With them if your mailed a movie you can take it to a blockbuster store and trade it in and not have to wait. So you know if you get one on Thursday you know there is no way to get a new movie by mailing in for the weekend and you can go there and trade and get something new. But the draw back I believe is that movie must be returned to the store. Always a draw back to anything I guess. :)

We are also thinking to take Blockbuster. Store return facility is the good thing about them.

I use netflix and have for years. I live a little further away from the home office, so mine take about 3 days to get to them and about 3 days to get back to me. Yes there will be a gap if you live farther away. It is not their fault it is the mail service. I lowered my membership to just 6 per month and I usually receive that many. Figure out how many you receive a month and lower your membership so you will not be paying the larger amount for less movies.

We are not far away from the office, and we get the movies in next day after they post or when we post they get it next day. But after we finished watching a particular number of movies they start to make dealy for accepting the movies or posting them. In this way the make sure that we can watch some limited number of movies, though we are paying for unlimited plan.

I always wondered about those companys that advetise unlimited movies. I, myself have never signed up for any mailorder rentals. We just dont watch that much movies. I agee that it is not fair but I guess that was their plan all along so they could make money.

In my country I do not need to rent movie as I rented cable line from where 99 channels can be opened to see TV and many are showing huge movie each week, say Star Movie, Z Cafe, Zee Cinema, Star Plus, AXN etc. etc. a lot of chennels which cannt remember.
