Hi Sonny
If your family composition changes at any time prior to your arrival in Canada as permanent resident, you are required to notify the Immigration or Visa office responsible for processing your application. Changes in family composition include marriage, divorce or the birth of a child of or to the principal applicant, or any family member of the principal applicant. Failure to do so will render that family member ineligible to be sponsored in the future, and may jeopardize the application for permanent residence.
Generally, medicals and security/background checks are not necessary for a child under the age of 12 months. However, if settlement funds are a required element of the application for permanent residence, there must be sufficient settlement funds taking into account the additional family member.
