Any alien who--
(I) is convicted of a crime involving moral
turpitude committed within five years (or 10 years in
the situation of an alien provided lawful permanent resident
Standing under section 1255(j) of this title) after the
Day of admission, and
(II) is convicted of a crime for which a sentence of
Twelve months or longer may be imposed,

What Is The Difference Between Admission And Acquiring Permanent Residency

Entrance gets inside the door (i.e., being permitted to go through immigration).
Permanent residency has been officially allowed to reside and work-in the U.S., forever. It is also a stage toward naturalization. A permanentresident may also be termed a "Green Card-Holder".
Five years? 10 years? That appears self-explanatory.
