Proposition 8 Passed In California. How Do You Feel About It?

Proposition 8 Passed In California. How Do You Feel About It?

Postby Channe » Thu Jan 16, 2014 3:45 am

Proposition eight is the 1 that seeks to rewrite the California Constitution in order to take away gay people from "equal protection beneath the law" in California. I want to know why some straight men and women feel so threatened by the happiness of other people.[The same Bible paragraph(in Leviticus) that says "A man must not lie with a man," also says we must stone to death any particular person who operates on the Sabbath day...Jesus Christ in no way said anything specifically about homosexuality, but he did say "Adore thy neighbor as thyself." Each and every main religion says "Do unto other people as you would have them do unto you."(That is not about sexuality, it is about citizenship!)]If we make one class of citizens officially second-class, who will be subsequent? This erodes the principles of religious liberty on which our nation was founded!

Proposition 8 Passed In California. How Do You Feel About It?

It's one of the most disgusting, bigoted, prejudiced pieces of BS legislature I've seen enacted. It makes me sick that so many people thought it was right to discriminate and segregate.

from your question above:  "I want to know why some straight people feel so threatened by the happiness of others. "   Straight people are still trying to figure out why  we are perceived as being "threatened by the happiness of others"   ....Because that is just not the case.  There is no threat here... it is so much bigger than personal opinion and personal belief.     That saying of "if it feels good, do it"  is a destructive and juvenile notion with no one else, or how they are affected is taken into consideration. The difference between right and wrong has begun to lose its clear definition as time  has gone by and as many WRONG     lifestyles, and ideas practices have  been tolerated  to the point that things that  were wrong in the past have gained the false title of being RIGHT.  Right and wrong do not change with time....people do.   Will it someday be legal and right to rape, murder and steal??   NO, because right and wrong are the same and feelings, and equality, and opionions cannot touch what is right and what is wrong.     Marriage is the holy and civil union between a man and a woman.   Why does that have to change just to make gay people happy?  A same sex  marriage ban might be an inconvenience, but it is something that can be  tolerated  by gays   as well as our having to tolerate and accept open gay relationships.     there has been no offense intended with this answer .

Proposition 8 Passed In California. How Do You Feel About It?

The good part of Prop 8 passing is that the children are protected. When homosexuals openly and consistently repudiate NAMBLA, then they might be trustworthy. Right now, they are carrying NAMBLA as fellow members in good standing, which either belies their message of "love" or betrays their ulterior motives.
