How can I? These drugs are bad for you..and are being given out inappropriately. Many times because of innaccurate accusations/ paperwork. What can I do about this epidemic?

I was forced to take drugs as a kid.
I felt extremely inadequate, like my own parents, doctors and teachers thought my personality was broken. To me, at that age it felt like they didn't like who I was and wanted to change me, so they gave me mind altering drugs. I didn't understand what the drugs were supposed to do so I only felt horrible and out of control on them. I still feel like my life has no control. I feel crippled and depressed because I feel like an inferior, stupid person.

agreed maybe not banned but not jus throwing drugs at every problem.I suffered from depression, panic attacks and OCD and usually the only advice I would get from the places I would look for help was"it a chemical imbalance"blah blah are you on meds yet?well i soon became an avid practicioner of meditation and did it for three months dedicated and now I hold a job, work full time and go to school and paid off all my debts and got my life back on track no thanks to prozac,I jus think more research needs to be done on alternative therapies, meditation is alot like exercise for the brain and mental illness is alot like obesity sure you can't jus snap outta being fat but if yer dedicated, eat healthy and exercise you'll begin to see results after a few months I'm sure it will become self evident in time and psych drugs will begin to be seen to be phased out

Your post sounds like a rant and a personal vendetta. The drugs shouldn't be banned. A whole lot of people are helped by them, so you'd ban the drugs and throw those people out with them? The problem isn't the drugs. If anything, it's the fact that some doctors are a little quick on the draw with a diagnosis of mental problems in younger kids, when a lot of it is hormones.
