Question about law degree and program? Please read and answer! (:?

Ok so my goal is to go to Harvard University for law school- YES, I WANT TO BECOME A LAWYER- Corporate, hopefully! So my goal is to get an accounting undergraduate degree, so that it would help me with my goal to become a corporate lawyer, and you know just in case the whole lawyer thing doesn’t work out, I have that accounting degree to save my butt! (: But I really really want to go to Harvard for law school- I’m going to need a lot of scholarships and grants for that, I already know!- But Harvard has a 3 ½ year program where you can get your J.D. and LL.M within those 3 ½ years! This is an amazing offer and it’s VERY COMPETITIVE! So basically I would do my first 2 years at Harvard, and IF I get accepted into the program, I would go to Cambridge University in England and study there for a year, and then come back for one more semester at Harvard. Ok so my question is: IF I get accepted to the Cambridge program and I manage to get my JD as well as my LL.M within those 3 ½ years, could I work at a firm in England as well? I don’t if I’d have to pass a test there, like the bar exam in America, but would I be hired, and would I be able to work in England? I heard some news that America has way more lawyers than jobs and I figured if I study in two countries, I could hopefully work in England too, if I can’t get a job in America… Is that true? I’m a bit confused on the subject- thanks so much! ((:

You cannot work in the UK unless you hold a passport from an EU country or you work for a US firm that has a UK office or you manage to get hired by a UK firm that will sponsor you. Given that UK firms are outsourcing legal work to India even faster than US firms are, you basically have no chance.

Unless you get into a top 4 law school forget law.
