Reckless driving ticket?

Postby syvwkh » Sat Mar 17, 2012 9:18 am

I was in an accident 2 days ago and was given a ticket for reckless driving, I was speeding and lost control of the car and rear-ended another vehicle. (it was stupid I know) I was then told that I needed to go to court on the 27th and on the police report it states that I have to go to a criminal court rather than a traffic court. What does this mean? Do I only have to pay the fine or what exactly is going to happen? (This was my first accident) I am currently 19 y/o

Reckless driving ticket?

Reckless driving is a misdemeanor (felony in some states) which is a criminal charge. Traffic court is for civil infractions.

For what kind of punishment you are looking at, look up reckless driving in your state.
