Should there be a drug testing law...?

Postby ayize » Thu Apr 19, 2012 8:36 pm

...stating that if any employee of a company is drug screened, every employee must be, including senior management?

Should there be a law stating that if the government is going to drug test its citizens, every government employee must submit to regular drug testing, from the President on down?

Considering that it's really only the poor and low-income workers who ever have to submit to this indignity, should we just pass a law requiring everybody to be drug tested every few months?

I'm sorry, is somebody actually expecting people to want to go out and face today's society straight?

Privately owned companies can do what they want pretty much. I do agree with you on government employees. Personally I think that any employee from the President on down to a city or village worker that is paid by tax payer dollars and has PERS ( public employees retirement system ) should be randomed tested for drugs once per year by an independent agency.

Drug tests are generally pointless to the levels of absurdity anyway. Generally as they're urinalysis tests, the only substances they are likely to find is marijuana, as most psychedelics don't even show up in urine and hard drugs like coke, crack and heroine are all out of ones system so quickly, they'd need to snort, smoke or shoot on their way to the test in order to get caught.

Adding more stupid laws is absurd. Last I checked, Government workers are American citizens.....so isn't it absurd to add a law to test government workers?

No more knee jerk laws......
