Soda Stream consumer rights?

I have an older version of soda stream. I just brought a new gas cylinder for it but the size and the tread no longer fits the older versions making mine redundant
I called soda stream and the lady acknowledged this and said I would have to buy a new soda machine and offered at measly 20% off a new one. Any advise as my old one is in good nick and the new ones are quiet expensive.

Two choices I see areto make an adapter to use a commercial bottle with it or refill your old bottles. There is an clip on youtube of how to do it. Either adapter has to be special made but any home brew shop should be able to help you with it.
