i almost fell for a sting operation over the phone. i said no at the last moment, but did say how much, but did not specify the money to sex. am i in the clear, or shall i be expecting a court date.

How do you know it was a sting operation?

If nothing happened beyond the phone call and you ultimately did say "no", you're probably not going to be charged.
