Speeding ticket violation of 100mph?

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Please help. I had a ticket this evening while driving on I-77, Cleveland ohio, around Independence at 97mph to meet my guardian at the hospital who just had an accident. This officer caught me and gave me a speeding ticket. He also told me that from the nature of my ticket, i can't call to pay over the phone, so i will have to appear in court. right now, i'm suffering from severe panic and don't know what to do. Please help!!! :(

I would suggest that you hire a lawyer and claim your emotional state was affected by your need to visit an injured friend in a hospital. With that being said, if your guardian was in the hospital because of a traffic accident it won't look good.

The court proceeding may be criminal in your state, that is why hiring a lawyer is important. Even though you were not drinking, I would suggest you call a DUI lawyer first because they would have experience or know who to refer you to.

I would also like to add that if you might want to get a second opinion because the lawyer's office can deny that they provided the wrong information, or because you did not retain them you cannot use that as an excuse. Not only that, but if you pay the fine your insurance will skyrocket.

You should retain a criminal lawyer. You committed a traffic misdemeanor and can lose your license for a year, get 8 points, and pay a large fine. your insurance can increase and you will not be able to handle the case by yourself or over the phone.
