Travelling to Australia to work and for Holiday - Advice?!?

Hi,

Me and my two friends are planning to go Travelling to Australia, leaving on 23rd feb 2013. Were starting off in cairns and finishing in Perth. We will spend the majority of the time in Brisbane as we all have Family over there. We were thinking instead of getting a bus for travelling, it would be alot more better and fun to each buy a cheap bike and insure it to Travel through Queensland!

Can anybody tell me the laws of a motorcycle licence in australia, queensland? And roughly the cost for insurance? A half decent bike can cost around $2000 (125cc enduro).

All 3 of us will be 20 years old and have full UK driving licences if that helps!

Any advise or infomation to websites is great!
