What are oregon labor laws regarding late paychecks?

Postby menw » Wed Oct 26, 2011 6:09 pm

I work as a fitness instructor. My employer was out of town and did not get pay checks ready before payday, and she paid us about 3-4 days late. What are the penalties that happen to employers who don't pay on time? Are there any fees that they have to pay to employees or something? A legitimate source of information would be appreciated

Check with the state's labor department.

3-4 days late probably wont be considered late. You aren't even sure how many days it was. In most cases late is usually 14-30 days after the pay period. If you knew the employer was out of town beforehand, they may not even be considered late at all.
