What can I expect at my Workers Compensation mediation hearing tomorrow afternoon?

Postby melville » Mon Oct 10, 2011 10:58 am

I was injured in late 2008 at work by someone accidentally dropping a piece of plywood off the roof of a two story building. No concussion luckily, but did receive a bunch of stitches and staples on the top of my head. Anyways, within days my neck began hurting and after several months of light duty work it hurt more and more and eventually started getting numbness and/or tingling in right arm along with spasms. MRI results show some medium to mild herniated disks, five in all, in just my cervical. My whole question for here is what could I expect for compensation to close this case with the insurance company? My first mediation I had, they maxed out at $7,500.00 and I bottomed out at $10,000.00 needless to say, we didn't make a deal. If anyone has had any experience with anything similar to this or just some good advice it would be really helpful. I would like to thank anyone responding to this in advance. +++By the way this question is referenced for people who have experience with this from __-*FLORIDA*-__ I understand that most states have their own rules for Workers Compensation.
Again, thank you!

Get the best Workers Comp lawyer you can find. It will be worth it. There is a formula for compensation but it all depends on how the injury is classified in terms of permanent, temporary, partial or full disability etc and you are not qualified to represent yourself.
