Possessing access to an lawyer, I believe, is a necessity not a luxury. Does this mean there's no justice for the middle class?

What Do You Do If You're Not Poor Enough For Legal Aid Services And Not Affluent Enough For A $300/hr Lawyer?

The surfaces could offer you a public defender if you do not have the revenue to offer a lawyer for youself.  I think there's an unfinished technique and some qualifying action but nonetheless possibly the greatest about. Although   I really do recognize that most of the attorneys that behave as public defenders placed on some half-assed variety of protection... Off-the-cuff... Modest arranging... and actually only a genuine work at a fragile defense.  Numerous different although.  Prosecutors are like pit bulls nevertheless!  Without having exception.   I saw a single yesterday defending a man who smashed appropriate into a building web site(slice the lock-off the garage-door) took a sizable power physical exercise and presented it to some Pawn Shop.   They got a copy of his driver's permit(needed in Virginia to full this variety of deal).  His opponent was stating it was not him... Somebody had clearly faked his permit and provided it to "shape him".  did not move the judges "reasonable particular person test" nevertheless when the Pawn Shop-Owner took the stand to spot him out and say, "Yes... This is the man... I identify him... and the permit matched his encounter..."  They scrambled for yet another absurd tale... he then stated he identified it...(a brand new account).    Public defenders are for folks who want to go to prison... or the poor...  if you're middle revenue or wealthy you can acquire a degree of "justice".   Which could be trueto some degree or another but can you style a a lot far better plan?

Bonnie~S mentioned: 4 In our neck of the woods, they have some that you pay only if you win the case, but they won't touch a case they do not feel they can win. I think that is only if you are wanting to sue somebody. If an individual is attempting to sue you, you could have difficulty locating 1, but there are some that will accept payments for their charges. Not court expenses even though. 56 months ago

Can you design a better system? The courts will provide you a public defender if you don't have the income to provide an attorney for youself.  I believe there is some qualifying step and an imperfect system but still probably the best around.   I do notice that many of the lawyers that act as public defenders put on some half-assed kind of defense though... off the cuff... little preparation... and really just a credible attempt at a weak defense.  All different though.  Prosecutors are like pit bulls though!  Without exception.   I watched one the other day defending a guy who broke into a contruction site(cut the lock off the garage door) stole a large power drill and sold it to a Pawn Shop.   They got a copy of his driver's license(required in VA to do such a transaction).  His defender was saying it wasn't him... someone had apparently faked his license and presented it to "frame him".  Didn't pass the judges "reasonable man test" but when the Pawn Shop owner took the stand to point him out and say, "Yep... that's the guy... I recognize him... and the license matched his face..."  They scrambled for another ridiculous story... he then said he found it...(a new story).    Public defenders are for folks that want to go to jail... or the poor...  if you are middle class or rich you can buy a degree of "justice".   That may be true to some degree or another but can you design a better system? In criminal cases, they assign you an attorney, regardless of your ability to pay.Legal Aid Services applies only in civil cases. Legally, you're not entitled to an attorney for civil cases.Whether that's "just"... well, it's no less just than the fact that your public defender is rarely a particularly good attorney. Rich people always get better representation than poor ones. John Rawls would say it's "just" if it's "just enough" that you'd agree to the system if you didn't know whether you'd be rich or poor. Or middle class. There may not be any system which is actually "just" by that definition.
