What is your view on illegal or undocumented immigrants?

Postby parnell » Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:15 am

I am a naturalized US citizen. I went through the entire legal process.
I also went to school to learn proper English and did not expect Americans to learn Mandarin for my convenience. I am proud to be called an American. I love the USA and respect the laws of my nation.

It's my view, that calling an "illegal alien" an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a "drug dealer" an "unregistered pharmacist".

It is simple, You cross any country's borders illegally, you have committed a crime.
It is illegal.

When South Americans cross Mexico's southern border illegally, they must hide their national origins. If not, Mexicans persecute, beat, and/or kill them for being in Mexico illegally.

What is your view on illegal or undocumented immigrants?

Postby weiford » Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:16 am

I work at a large construction site in Dallas Texas. We are building a hospital. There are about 200 illegal Mexican aliens working on the site. They work hard long hours and rarely complain. The average one earns about $150 to $200 per day. It are paid salary, not an hourly wage.

Most of them do not pay their own living expenses. The sub-contractors that hire them pay for their housing (usually a motel or large apartment for 4 workers) and also for their meals, groceries, and laundry. The money earned by the workers is not spent in the USA economy, except for beer and maybe a pickup truck to drive while drinking the beer.

Since they are illegal immigrants and undocumented, they do not pay any income tax. Most of their money is sent to Mexico and spent there. Most of them have Lone Star cards which are given to anyone who can show they need government assistance, whether illegal or not. Since they are not documented workers, the government cannot prove they are employed so issue the welfare cards.

These illegal aliens abuse our system and laugh at us for it. Lone Star cards are welfare cards that allow them to buy food almost anywhere. Legal American residents and citizens who pay taxes are paying for the Lone Star cards.

It is a scenario that is repeated countless times daily across the nation.
If Americans were in Mexico illegally, they would kill us.

Everybody in the U.S. (accept the Native American Aboriginal Peoples) is illegal. There should be some sort of comprehensive immigration reform to ensure criminals shouldn't enter the country, but the vast majority of undocumented (but otherwise law-abiding) immigrants should be granted amnesty...
