In 2003 they passed a law saying corporations are not responsible for what they do.

can't say about the plugs or filter but a lot of studies have shown back belts do more bodily harm than not using them because people don't use them correctly

It is your employers responsibility to do a safety analysis of the workplace and cover all PPE required by OSHA standards, ie. if the noise level is above 85db then they have to supply ear plugs of some form,,,,,by law. As far as the back belt, this is your responsibilty to purchase, the law used to be no lifting of anything over 50 lbs, but now it has been changed to, don't lift anything you're not comfortable with. If you refuse to lift things and you get fired,,,, lucky you,,, because you have a great lawsuit on your hands.
