Where can I play online poker in the US?

Postby barraq » Sat Apr 14, 2012 7:40 pm

Does anyone know of some sites where I can play online poker for real money? With the new law that was passed I only know the basic facts, and that is, lots of the big poker companies like pokerstars and fulltiltpoker left. So does anyone know of some trustworthy legal sites?

Carbon Poker is solid and I hear good things from reliable sources about Lock Poker. However if you live in New York, Kentucky, Washington DC, Maryland, Washington, Missouri and Louisiana you can't play there. Americas Cardroom is another site, no play if you live in Maryland and Washington state......probably Kentucky to but I'm not sure about that. Other sites include Cake Poker, Intertops, and BetOnline but there are most likely a few states where you can't play these sites either. You should look into all of them and decide which site/sites are best for you.

You're best bet to play poker for real money is at an actual card room. Most of the trustworthy online sites have all abandoned U.S. players because it would cause them for problems that it is worth. With the small sites around still accepting U.S. players, many will not payout when you win there. So it is in most people's best interest to avoid online poker until new laws are passed that will allow them again.

In casinos in california, many of them have all the table gaming similar to Vegas. Some dedicated card rooms like Bay 101 or Garden City have a huge player base at all times of the day so you will always find a table to play at and plenty of tournaments. Some but not all are 18 year old plus, so you can start playing earlier if you are under 21.

Where can I play online poker in the US?

There are quite a few options to still play for real money in the US, just need to weight the pros and cons of each for what fits best for you.

- Cake Poker - This option is still available to US players and has a pretty soft player base. The hangup with them is that cashouts take about 3 months and don't show any sign of getting any quicker. You can usually transfer to someone else if you need it faster but you stand to take a big % hit, or a vig.

- America's Cardroom - If the software of this site doesn't drive you insane, you're a special person lol. Plus they're fairly new and frankly hard to trust.

- Lock Poker is the site I always push when these questions come up. Several deposit options, cashouts take 7-10 days via check and they're a member of the trusted Merge network that's been around for a long while. If you use the link below to check them out, you'll automatically be set up with rakeback, bonuses and entered into a 10k depositors freeroll. Its the best anyone can offer.

Hope this helps.

YES! Check out Face Up Gaming ( http://players.faceupgaming.com/registration#a_aid=Gators ). I love this site, it's totally free to sign up, takes like 5 seconds and you actually win cash!
