Sadly, Americans often forget they're not in the USA subjected to US laws. They are subjected to the laws of the nation they're visiting. This is why "1 out of 3 Americans are arrested" for violation of the laws of the nation.

Drug laws overseas are so severe because the law makers are aware of the hazards associated with illicit drug use!

Because US citizens think that just because the US laws are so weak and the judges are so scared of not being re-elected that they let things slide that they are weak all over the world

In some countries a conviction of a drug offense is the death penalty and that sentence is carried out within weeks

Most think they can do as they wish, not so!
Japan had one guy with drugs he got the death penalty shorty after getting caught. The family hired Attorney stating he was mentally disabled, did not help.
Try Indonesia,strict laws! There are many more strict countries, don't play with that.
