Does a pre-sentence investigation include a drug test for non-drug charges?

A couple months ago I got arrested for assault. I've been to court, it was adjourned multiple times, etc. etc., and now they've decided to do a pre-sentence investigation to determine my sentence. I have no prior criminal record and therefore no drug charges, nor have I ever been caught with drugs by anyone, law enforcement or otherwise. They may not have any logical reason to drug test me, but I've read up on it and they're allowed to administer a test at their own discretion, but I'm a teenager and we have a bad reputation with drugs, meaning they could easily drug test me just for being an adolescent. What I want to know is the likelihood of them choosing to administer a test and whether it's safe to smoke between now and then.

Please keep any judgments to yourself and only post answers with actual relevant advice. Your objections are duly noted but I have no intention of changing my attitude regarding drugs and violence.

of course, no judging that's for the cops and court. in my state they can test you and recomend a 90 day shock treatment drug program instead of jail time. don't you have a p.d or any type of councel? a pre-sentence investigation means they are checking any other factors that should be used in deciding the degree of crime and punishment
