I am sick of hearing Filipinos say they think they are like Americans. They aren't. Americans are mostly for abortion and condom use as you can see by the laws and availability of both in the US. Only one state doesn't has abortion clinics. Second, ,most Americans are not religious and do not go to church and say praise the lord 24/7. Third most Americans are totally against corruption and breaking laws. That is not the case in the Philippines. And Filipinos are the worst at overstaying their visas in the US. Finally, America takes care of its own people and doesn't believe in large families and no food to feed them. The Philippines has long had an overpopulation problem but Filipinos just can't control themselves and keep pumping out babies 24/7 again. All of these simple traits show that Filipinos are unlike Americans in many ways. So why do Filipinos keep saying that they are something like Americans!

Please if you are one of these people who thinks you are something like an American please explain why.

Are you ******* serious? I'm Filipino and I don't say "praise the lord" 24/7. I can't even remember the time I went to church. Sure The Philippines is corrupted, it's a third world country. People actually work harder to survive. If America wasn't colonized, there'd only be true Americans: Natives. The average American is obese. If you ask someone on the streets about who Fidel Castro was, they'd say he's a singer. I'm glad I am not American. Being Asian makes me feel superior. I am the smartest in class. Sure, I'm boasting, but you have the right to brag if you can walk the walk. What I hate most is Americans thinking they are richer. Well, of you come from a third world country and move away from a poor family, where'd you think you'd get? Americans are spoiled brats. About the overpopulation: it's a small country. If America where switched with the Philippines, you'd be overpopulated as well. One last thing: Don't base one Filipino on all. For my rant, I'm basing most Americans.

I'm a Filipino but I don't think or act like an American :) And not all Filipinos are like that :) Some filipinos just really have a big head and they think that if they act or think like an American, people would look up to them or have extra class. Forgive me for saying this but the lower class of Filipinos are usually the ones who does this.

You are stereo typing Americans. Americans do not act like the way you describe. If Filipinos do pick up some traits from Americans either from the movies, television or from first hand experience, what is wrong with that? Not ALL Filipinos are the way you describe.

I've just been here a short while and I am speaking from my experience. I don't know any Filipinos back home.

I was born in the Philippines.
Met and lived with various nationalities.
I have learned and unlearned behaviors and ways of thinking
from people I've met.
Until now, I cannot say I have any trait from any country.
I just claim to be an internationally-minded person...

never stereotype all filipinos...and never compare any nationality nor race to one another..individual differences regardless of race.
