The U.S., on the verge of bankruptcy, does not have the $3.4 billion on hand to give, so it borrows the money from the Treasury and naturally has to pay back millions in interest, while Israel takes its lump sum and invests in U.S. Treasury Bills and notes, earning millions in interest from the U.S. government. So while we borrow the $3.4 billion and lose millions paying the interest, Israel invests the lump sum and makes millions earning interest. So U.S. taxpayers pay millions of dollars in interest to borrow, and then pays millions in interest to Israel. Make sense? Of course not!!

Sadly, your question is a propaganda rant about Israel, missing all sorts of facts:

1. The US foreign budget is a tiny, tiny drop in the US budget. Israel gets only a tiny, tiny drop of that. A variety of other countries get similar amounts, Egypt & Palestinian Authority, & Jordan for instance, yet you focus ONLY on Israel. Billions sounds like a lot to you, but it's nothing in the US budget.

2. 75% of aid to Israel is required to be spent on US defense companies. So that money goes right back into US hands. NO other country has this string attached to it's foreign aid. It is not invested in US treasuries - that's ridiculous, & you really think congress gives money for that purpose?

3. That Israeli aid is 3B. 25Billion is a misrepresented # that pretends the loan guarentees are actual aid. In fact, they are US backing loans Israel g'vt gets so Israel can get a decent safety rating & rate from private banks. Israel has never defaulted so US has never had to come in a co-signer & pay anything. Any site that uses those #s is giving itself away as being about war on Israel, not facts.

4. Foreign aid buys US interests. Israel is a close ally & a democracy in a part of the world that sorely needs one. Iran it's mad at Israel, but at the US. Ahmendinajad himself, Osama & experts in Middle East will tell you US as "big Satan" is seen as representative of "the west" & Israel as just a tiny extension "invading" their world. You sound like a conspiracy nut. "Reads our mail, steals inventions & puts their name on it?" Goodness, please take a trip to a synagogue already. So the 800,000 Jews kicked out of Arab & Muslim countries in mid-1900s should have gone to Madagascar? Jews were the majority in Jerusalem... and hadn't set foot in Madagascar & would have been invited guests who were kicked out when Africans decided that Middle Easterners didn't belong.
Israel offered local Arabs to be citizens & 20% of Israel is Muslim Arab. Only requirement was living in a democracy, instead of Arab Muslim ruled dictatorship-prone theocracy.
