So I have been using Suddenlink as my service provider and everything has been working great. I eventually had to move though, and I was moving in with someone who already had Suddenlink, so I canceled my service and decided to just use theirs. When I moved I brought over my DVR and my Internet modem. I know that I have to turn in the DVR and I'm currently waiting for it to be picked up, but I have been using it and the modem at this new house since I've lived here and it's always worked. They recently both stopped working, now I can understand why the DVR stopped, because it's their property and they're coming to get it. But I payed for the modem myself, so it should keep working as long as where I'm at has an Internet service that I could use it through right? If anyone has any info on it or a suggestion that would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know the exact details of Suddenlink modems and their connection, but when I was using a modem connection I had to set up specific settings so that the modem could establish the connection.

If your modem has to log on to the ISP, and you have terminated your account, then they may taken some days before they cancelled the login details on their servers. This could account for why it worked for some time and then both the DVR and modem stopped working at the same time.

Have you tried using the login details that your house colleague uses when he or she uses the Internet service?
